The follow-up email that took 4 hours to write and 2 minutes to ruin
So last Friday I finally sat down to craft this perfect follow-up to a client who went silent after I sent my proposal. I spent four hours tweaking the subject line, rearranging paragraphs, and second-guessing every single word. I even read it out loud to my cat like she was the client. Then I hit send and realized I had attached the wrong file, a random spreadsheet of my personal gas expenses from March. The client replied in 2 minutes asking if I was selling fuel or marketing services. I told them I was testing their attention to detail, which they surprisingly bought. Has anyone else had a send-button disaster that somehow worked out because of pure luck?
