Why does nobody talk about the follow-up email with a screenshot?

Last month I sent a pitch to a potential client in Austin and heard nothing for five days. I was about to write it off, then a buddy told me to send a short follow-up with a screenshot of the exact part of my proposal I wanted them to see. Got a reply in two hours saying they'd missed the attachment the first time. Now I put a screenshot in every second email I send. Has anyone else found that visuals beat fancy wording in follow-ups?
