The skunk incident that made me switch to pre-drilled posts in Ohio

We were setting a 200 foot cedar fence near a creek outside Toledo and this skunk just wandered into the trench we had dug. My foreman yelled to freeze but the auger guy already spun up and caught the tail, big mistake. That thing sprayed everything, the posts, the coil nails, even the inside of the truck cab. We had to abandon the whole first run of panels because the odor would never wash out. Now I always pre-drill every post hole and lay plastic down near any brush line, plus we carry a case of tomato juice spray bottles in the trailer. Has anyone else dealt with a live animal wrecking a job site, or am I the only one who now smells like a county fair midway for a month?
