Watch out for those recycled plastic fence posts that look like wood

Installed a full fence line near Austin last month with these postsa friend swore by, and by week three three of them had cracked right down the middle. Had to pull the whole thing and start over on a Saturday. Has anyone else tried these and had them hold up in heat?

Same thing happened to mine, cracked right down the middle too.

Oh man, I have to say that's not quite right about the plastic cracking. Actually, most of these cases have a glass back, not plastic. I know because I took mine apart after it shattered and there was glass everywhere. The frame is metal but the back panel is definitely glass. So it probably cracked from thermal shock or just a small drop. I think people mix it up because the glass has a matte finish sometimes. Either way, it's a bummer when it happens for sure.

Actually I used to think the back was plastic too until my nephew dropped his phone and it shattered into a million tiny pieces. You're right, it is glass and I was wrong about that.
