We used a new type of post driver on a cedar fence in Spokane and it kept jamming.

It was a 'Quik-Set' model, and we lost nearly an hour clearing it. Anyone have a driver they swear by for softwoods?

My old boss in Tacoma always said cheap tools cost you more in lost time.

Lost an hour on a cedar fence? That's brutal. I've seen those Quik-Set drivers act up if the wood's even a little green. The sap just gums everything up. My uncle had one seize solid on a single post. Had to take the whole thing apart in the field. Never touched that brand again.

Weird, my Quik-Set's been solid for years. I always keep a can of WD-40 in the truck and hit the driver head every few posts. Cedar can be sticky, but a quick spray keeps it running smooth. Maybe your uncle just got a bad unit or needed more lube.
