First batch of kimchi grew mold after 5 days
I started my first ever kimchi ferment last Tuesday and by Sunday there was fuzzy white stuff on top. I tossed the whole jar but saved some of the liquid - can I reuse it to start a new batch or is that asking for trouble?

My friend tried that once. Got mold again in 3 days.

That happened to me too on my first try, I learned the hard way to put less moisture and more salt next time. I wouldn't reuse that liquid though, just start fresh with new veg and brine.
