I finally set up a drip tray for my active ferments
My counter was always wet from bubbling overflows. I took a baking sheet and placed it under all my jars. It catches ANY mess and makes cleanup EASY. No more sticky surprises when I check my brews. This simple hack keeps my station tidy.

My buddy Dave had a gallon of kombucha explode on his kitchen floor last year. It went everywhere, under the fridge and across the grout lines in his tile. The sugar in it turned into this impossible sticky glue that he was still finding spots of weeks later. He ended up putting down one of those silicone baking mats under all his jars after that, which worked the same as your tray idea. Saved his security deposit for sure.

Ugh, trays are a must for fermenting.

How bad was the cleanup after that explosion? Did Dave have to use anything special to get the stickiness off the floor?

Trays just trap the mess.
