Week of perfect sauerkraut fermentation temps was a total fluke

Had five jars going last month and every single one hit that sweet spot around 65 degrees for 7 days straight. Never had that happen before. Usually I get one that bubbles too fast or stalls out. No idea what I did different. Maybe the house just had the right draft that week. Anybody else get lucky like that and then cant repeat it?

5 jars bubbling perfect at once is wild. My last good batch was two years ago, same weird draft in the kitchen. I started writing down the temp every day for a week and saw it was consistently 64-68. Now I just throw a cheap thermometer in the corner and aim for that zone. If it gets too warm, I move the jars to the basement floor for a day. Too cold, they go on top of the fridge overnight. Helps a ton.

Wait, @wesley639, you're telling me I could've just been moving jars around this whole time instead of praying to the fermentation gods? Ngl I got one of those fancy wine fridge thermometers after my perfect week and taped it to the shelf where I keep the jars. Now I just stare at it like it's gonna betray me any second. Last batch I tried to recreate the magic by opening the kitchen window exactly 4 inches at night like some kind of sauerkraut scientist. Ended up with two jars that smelled like feet and one that somehow got mold on top within 3 days. Honestly the universe just hates me specifically when it comes to repeatable results.

Same weird draft" is the only variable that matters, I swear.
