Charged $50 for my first freelance flyer design and the client asked for a refund an hour later

I did a quick flyer for a local bakery in Austin last month and only asked $50 since I was nervous about pricing. They came back saying their nephew could have done it in 5 minutes and wanted their money back. Has anyone else dealt with buyers who undervalue design work right from the start?

Did you put a watermark on the final file before getting paid?

Used to think watermarks were overkill but honestly this changed my mind. Better safe than sorry with clients you don't know well.

@black.oliver I used to think watermarks were a bit much for small jobs but this post really changed my mind on that. It's a smart way to protect yourself until payment clears.
