My first freelance gig I charged $20 for a logo and thought I was rich

Back in 2019 I quoted a buddy's clothing brand $20 for a full logo pack because I had no clue what anything was worth. Now I charge $350 minimum for the same work after I realized I was basically paying them to let me work for free. How did you figure out your first real rate?

Honestly, you probably should've stuck with that lower rate and focused on getting more clients instead. @jessica331 knows the struggle though.

Ha, I charged someone in pizza once so you're doing better than me!

Totally get that, pizza money is still money lol. But honestly, steady clients at a lower rate build momentum way better than sporadic higher paying ones. @jessica331 has a point about the grind, you just have to decide if you want to eat pizza for a month or actually cover rent. Kinda learned that the hard way myself.
