Blew $340 on a wire service holiday package and my own cooler did better
I run a small shop in Boise and last Valentine's I panicked and bought into one of those wire service holiday packages for around $340. The pitch was guaranteed orders and pre made designs. What I got was a box of sad roses shipped from who knows where, half of them brown at the edges by the time they hit my cooler. I had to toss about 30 stems and remake stuff customers had already paid for. Meanwhile the buckets I drove down to the wholesaler myself at 5am, the ones I arranged in house, got compliments all week and zero complaints. The wire orders brought in maybe $60 in real profit after fees and the replacements I ate. So now I just order direct from my two growers and skip the middleman thing entirely. Anyone here still use the wire services, or did you all bail like I did?
