Had to choose between roses and tulips for a big wedding order

I went with tulips because the bride wanted pastels, but the groom's mom kept pushing for red roses. Half the guests asked me why there weren't more roses - has anyone else had a customer's family mess with your design choices like that?

But what if the red roses would have looked better?

The "what if" part of your question is what gets me thinking. Sometimes a color that clashes a little creates more visual interest than something that perfectly matches. Red roses against that background might have been too intense and actually made the whole thing look flat.

Feel like this happens everywhere, not just with flowers. People hear "could have been different" and assume it means "should have been different" without trusting the person who actually made the choice.
