I disagree with the 'never wire succulents' advice after a custom order in Miami
A bride wanted tiny succulents wired into her bouquet, and it took me 4 attempts over two days to get them secure without damage. Has anyone else found a method that actually works for this?
The trick nobody talks about is the humidity control in the room where you're working. In Miami you're fighting that moist air which makes the succulents sweat more and the stems get slippery. Running a dehumidifier or even a fan directly on the work area for an hour before you start can change the whole game. Also wrapping the base of each succulent in a tiny bit of wax paper before taping gives the wire something to grip without crushing the plant. That silence between attempts is brutal but at least you're learning the hard way like the rest of us.
Honestly, @the_andrew, the weirdest part was the total silence after each try. You just sit there in the quiet, feeling more stupid each time. It's a special kind of torture.
