I used to think green floral foam was fine until I saw the difference after switching to a chicken wire base for a wedding arch last month.
The arch held up way better in the wind and the bride even commented on how fresh the flowers looked 6 hours later, has anyone else noticed a big change ditching foam for bigger installations?

so my friend jenna helped with this massive ballroom ceiling installation last spring and they went with chicken wire for the first time after years of foam. idk if she thought it was gonna be that different but she said the flowers looked just as good the next morning for the brunch cleanup. like the hydration was way more even and nothing was dropping petals everywhere compared to her past foam jobs. i mean maybe it's just me but i feel like people are finally figuring out that foam can sometimes mess with the water flow in bigger setups.

Had a moment where I tried chicken wire for a small wedding arch and spent way too long explaining to my grandma that no, I was not building a chicken coop in her backyard. But honestly the flowers lasted forever so maybe I should've just let her believe it.
