My cooler thermostat gave out during a heatwave last July
Came in to find 300 roses with bent necks and snapped stems from the heat, lost about $450 worth of stock before I caught it, anyone else had a cooler fail at the worst possible time?

Thermostat backups are cheap. That's on you for not having one.

Stopped reading at "thermostat backups." You keep a backup thermostat in your house? Like a spare remote control for your AC? That level of preparedness is honestly terrifying to me. I don't even have a backup plan for my backup plan.

Used to be on your side honestly. Thought people with spare thermostats were just preppers going overboard. But then my main one died last July during that heatwave. Had to wait two days for a replacement and the house hit 88 degrees inside. My cats were miserable, I was sleeping on the kitchen floor near the window unit. Not doing that again. Picked up a basic backup for twenty bucks and it sits in my junk drawer now. Way less dramatic than a full emergency kit or whatever.

@viola_garcia56 it's just a small digital thermostat, not a whole backup AC unit. Honestly if you keep your backup in a junk drawer you'll probably forget it's even there until you need it.
