Rant: I thought using carnations was a cheap cop-out until a bride in Tulsa asked for a full bouquet of just the peach ones last Saturday.

Seeing how elegant and intentional that single-flower bouquet looked completely flipped my view on them, so what other 'basic' blooms do you guys think get a bad rap?

My friend did something similar with daisies, and @susan_allen is right, it's all about the style.

Totally get that. Had the same thing happen with baby's breath. Saw it used as this huge, cloud-like centerpiece and it looked so expensive and modern. Changed my whole outlook on filler flowers.
