Warning: A new flower wholesaler in Atlanta just cost me a big wedding order

Last week, I placed a trial order with a new supplier for a wedding this Saturday. They promised peonies and garden roses, but the delivery was 80% wilted and the colors were wrong. I had to scramble to find replacements from my usual vendor, which cost me an extra $300 and two hours of time. The bride was happy in the end, but it was way too close. I should have stuck with the company I've used for three years. Has anyone else had a bad experience with new wholesalers this season?

Actually, that's a pretty harsh way to judge a new business. Everyone has to start somewhere, and a single messed up order doesn't mean they're bad forever. Your regular vendor probably messed up a bunch when they were new too, you just weren't around to see it. Giving up on them after one try means they never get the chance to fix their process and get better. Sometimes you have to eat a small cost to help build up a good new option in your area.

Totally agree! I've given new vendors a second chance and it's saved me money long term. Like @wesley639 said, it could have just been a bad batch that day.

Consider that maybe the new vendor just had a bad day with a shipment of their own. Sometimes even good suppliers get a bad batch of flowers from the farm. Could your usual vendor have had the same problem if you'd ordered from them this time?
