Met a guy at a coffee shop in Austin who said all freelance real estate work is just glorified cold calling... and I kinda argued with him about it.

I mean, I just told him my best deals came from referrals, not cold calls.

Sounds like someone's still reading the real estate playbook from 1998. Cold calling is the spam email of the sales world, everyone just hits ignore.

Seriously, that guy sounds clueless. I read a whole study showing most agents build their business through repeat clients and word of mouth, just like @blairm77 said. Cold calling is just one tiny tool, not the whole job.
