My home inspection app glitched and cost me a $450 deposit
Last Tuesday I had a virtual walkthrough with a client in Austin, and the app I use for creating inspection reports froze halfway through. I lost all the notes I took on the foundation cracks and the AC unit age, which the buyer was really counting on. I ended up having to reschedule for Friday and refund their $450 deposit out of pocket because they lost trust in my process. Has anyone else had a software fail mess up a deal like this?

I mean I used to be one of those people who thought software was always more reliable than doing stuff manually, but your story about losing the foundation notes really changed my mind. Idk, guess it's easy to forget how fragile this stuff can be until something like that happens.

Paper backups saved my bacon more than once. Got into the habit of printing out the important stuff and sticking it in a binder after I had a hard drive die on a Friday afternoon with a Monday deadline. Still use software for the day to day, but the critical stuff gets a hard copy now, no exceptions.

Funny how the stuff we trust least ends up saving us most, guess I'm just a magnet for tech disasters
