PSA: That online client questionnaire I designed saved me 6 hours last month
I spent a Sunday building a simple form in Google Forms for new buyers instead of my usual phone call routine, and got back six hours of my week. Has anyone else tried automating their initial intake, or do you still prefer the personal touch?

The "saved me 6 hours" part REALLY hits home for me. I did something similar with a Google Form for my HVAC business and it totally changed my scheduling. What I found was that the form actually forces people to be more specific about their problem than a quick phone chat does. Like they'll type "water heater making banging noise" versus just saying "it's broken" on the phone. So that six hours you saved is probably way more once you factor in how much less back and forth you have to do. Now I just add a quick follow up call for the complex stuff but the form handles the easy ones.

Gotta admit I was skeptical at first but your example makes a lot of sense.

Doesn't it feel like the form actually makes people think through their problem more before they reach out? I noticed that too with my own intake form - people will type out stuff like "needs new wiring in the kitchen" instead of just saying "it's electrical" over the phone. The back and forth drop off is huge, especially when you add in that you can ask specific questions on the form that they would normally forget to mention until later. Like I have a section that asks about their timeline and budget upfront, and that alone stops like half the tire kickers before they even get to me.
