Seller leads vs buyer leads - I thought one was always better until I tested both for 2 months straight

I used to think seller leads were the only way to make real money in freelance real estate. So I spent all my time chasing FSBOs and expired listings, and I landed 3 deals that paid around $5,000 total over 6 weeks. Then out of curiosity I tried running a Facebook ad for buyer leads in my town of 40,000 people. Those buyer leads were way cheaper to get and easier to talk to, but the commissions were smaller and took longer to close. So now I'm wondering if I should split my time 50/50 or just pick one lane and go hard. Anyone here found a clear winner between the two?

The one that got me the most was a nail puncture on a Sunday evening in a sketchy part of town. AAA took over an hour to show up and by then I was just sitting there watching my phone battery drain. I get why people like AAA for convenience but I'd rather just change it myself and be back on the road in 15 minutes.
