That 'fire the client' advice from a forum post cost me $2,200
Some guy named RealEstateRick said to drop any client who questions your fee. I did that with a repeat flipper in Phoenix. He was my biggest payer. Now I have a 3 month gap in work.

That 2,200 bucks was a hard lesson. I used to think you gotta fire anyone who pushes back on pricing, but now I realize some clients just want to understand what they're paying for. Next time I'll just explain my fee instead of going nuclear.

Wait, you actually dropped a repeat client who was your biggest payer over one fee question? That $2,200 hit had to sting pretty bad, what are you gonna do different next time?

Yeah I've been there and honestly what ended up working for me was just being upfront about the breakdown. Like here's the hourly rate plus what the project management stuff costs and why. Most of the time once they see it's not random they get it.
