Trying to fix a property tax record error cost me a full week
I was helping a seller in Charlotte get ready to list, and the county had their square footage wrong by 200 feet. I thought a quick call would fix it, but it took 7 days of back and forth with the assessor's office and digging up old floor plans. I had to submit three different forms and wait on hold for hours. Has anyone else found a faster way to deal with tax record mistakes?

And nobody's talking about just paying a surveyor for a quick measurement? I'm in Raleigh and there's a guy who'll come out, laser measure the whole place, and email you a report same day for like 150 bucks. That report is basically gold with the assessor - they can't argue with a licensed pro's numbers the way they can with your word and some old floor plans. Saved me a world of headaches on three listings last year.

My buddy waited a week for a part and his whole project got rained on, ruined the wiring.

Cover your work with a tarp next time, even if you think it'll be quick. Learned that the hard way myself.
