Am I the only one who doubled my rate and actually got more work?
I bumped my hourly rate from $40 to $80 back in March after a slow February in Portland. Suddenly clients started treating me like an expert instead of a bargain, and I landed three new contracts in two weeks. Has anyone else seen this weird reverse effect?

Did you update your portfolio and bio when you raised the rate?

Yeah that's not quite how it works, bios aren't really for rates.

Depends on the market honestly. I update my bio every time I adjust rates just because it helps with the whole story behind why you're charging more. Keeps things consistent so clients don't get whiplash when they see a higher number without context.
