Co-working spaces are a money pit for most freelancers

I went to a fancy co-working spot in Austin last month called The Wing. It was $350 a month for a hot desk and I gotta say I was not impressed. People were on calls in the quiet zone, the wifi went down twice in one day, and the coffee was worse than my home setup. For a freelance writer making around $1,200 a week, that's almost 30% of my weekly income gone just to sit somewhere. I'd rather work from a library or a coffee shop and save that cash for actual business stuff. Anyone else feel like co-working spaces are overhyped for the cost?

My friend paid $400 for a Dallas coworking spot and found roaches in the break room.

The noise cancelling is way better at a public library for free.
