Friend told me my invoices looked like ransom notes, so I redesigned them
I spent 3 hours redoing my invoice template based on their feedback about fonts and spacing, and my last two clients paid within 5 days instead of 3 weeks. Has anyone else had a client comment on how you present your bills?

Three different fonts"? @charlie198 I'm sitting here trying to picture that and my brain just won't process it. That's wild, I would've thought you were pranking me.

so I had this one client like three years ago who actually sent me a screenshot of my invoice with all these red circles around the parts they thought looked unprofessional, and I was honestly kinda offended at first but then I looked at it and yeah, it did kinda look like I typed it up in Word 2003 and gave up halfway through. the spacing was all over the place and I was using like three different fonts because I thought mixing serif and sans serif made it look "fancy" or whatever, but really it just looked like a mess. it's wild how something as simple as lining up the totals and making the font consistent can make people actually want to pay you faster, like they trust you more when your paperwork looks clean. I started using this basic template with just one font and a little logo at the top and my payment times went from "eventually" to "within a week" for most people.
