Pro tip: don't do your quarterly taxes at 2am from a coffee shop

I was at a Starbucks in Portland last week trying to sort out my estimated payments. My laptop died halfway through because I forgot my charger at home. Ended up scribbling numbers on a napkin and still messed up my deduction for that $400 camera lens I bought for a gig. Has anyone else had a public workspace fail like this?

400 dollar camera lens deduction at 2am is wild @nathan_kim, I feel that napkin math energy. My laptop straight up died at that same Portland Starbucks last week, had to borrow a charger from a barista who looked at me like I was insane. Triple espresso on an empty stomach just makes you do dumb tax math faster, not better. Coffee shop WiFi always fails at the worst moment too, like it knows you're about to submit something important.

Why does every important life task seem to happen at the worst possible time and place? It's like the universe knows exactly when you're most vulnerable and throws a curveball. Probably because we're all just one dead battery and cold coffee away from a complete meltdown.
