Rant: My quarterly tax payment took me 3 hours to figure out

I mixed up my business income and personal deductions on the 1040-ES form and had to redo all my math from January. Has anyone else found a simpler way to handle estimated taxes without a huge headache?

Ngl, that sounds like my last tax day. I spent an hour just looking for a receipt from July. I started using a separate checking account just for tax money, and it helps a ton.

Yeah, that separate account trick is smart, @david920. I went a step further and got one of those apps that lets you scan receipts right when you get them. Just take a picture and it sorts them by month. Saves the panic search later. The real game changer was setting a calendar reminder for the first of every month to check the folder. Makes tax day feel way less scary because you did a tiny bit all year.
