That week I invoiced $6,800 but only collected $1,200 after fees and delays...

Had three clients pay late, one dispute a line item from March, and then Stripe held $2,400 for five days over a 'security review' - has anyone else had payment processors just freeze your money like that?

Didn't Stripe just get sued for that freezing accounts thing, like what happened to that artist last year?

Yeah, that artist's case really blew up online and made people realize how risky it all is.

Take it from someone who got burned the same way @the_robin did. I keep a separate bank account with at least two months of expenses just for buffer now. Also, never put all your eggs with one payment processor. Have a backup like PayPal or Square ready to go if Stripe freezes you. Did you end up switching to something else after that happened?

Yeah, three months of their savings gone with no warning changed my mind completely.
