Appreciation post: that pegboard I put up behind my workbench last month

I finally got around to hanging a 4x8 foot pegboard in my garage last week and I can't believe I waited so long. I used to keep all my screwdrivers, hammers, and wrenches in a big plastic tote under my bench and it took forever to find the right tool. Now I just glance up and grab what I need in like 2 seconds. My buddy Mike told me about it when he helped me organize his garage in Tulsa about 3 months ago and I thought it was overkill. But after spending 15 minutes hunting for a 9/16 socket last weekend I ordered one online that same night. Total cost was about $35 for the board, hooks, and some mounting screws. Has anyone else tried putting a second pegboard on the opposite wall for overflow stuff like extension cords and spray cans?

Did you look at the pegboard for heavy duty hooks? I hung a second one on the opposite wall for stuff like air hose and drop cords. Makes a huge difference when you can keep everything off the floor. Only thing I’d say is get some of those metal bins for small stuff like drill bits, they hang right on the board too. Cheap fix and your garage stays clean as hell.

Man, I was in the same boat honestly! I used to think pegboards were just for cluttered workshops or for people with way too many tools. But after finally putting one up a few weeks ago, I'm kicking myself for all the time I wasted digging through boxes and toolbags. It's wild how such a simple setup can turn a frustrating hunt into a quick glance and grab.

Did you find it helped keep your floor space clear too? Same story here, life changer for sure.
