Vent: Took me 6 months to fix my garage ceiling storage racks

Everyone swears by those overhead ceiling racks for bins, but I spent half a year figuring out my drywall anchors couldn't hold more than 40 pounds each. Had to rip it all out and bolt into the rafters instead - anyone else run into weak ceiling support issues?

Is 40 pounds per anchor really that bad for bins of holiday decorations?
