Paid $400 for a contract review, got back a template with my name on it
I hired a lawyer in Austin to look over a subcontractor agreement last month. Cost me $400 and they sent back a 3 page document that just changed my company name and a few dates. I found two clauses myself that contradicted each other, and they missed both. Has anyone else paid for a review and felt like they got less than a free doc from LegalZoom?

“They sent back a 3 page document that just changed my company name and a few dates” is honestly wild. You paid $400 for them to hit ctrl+H on a template and call it a day. Ngl, if they missed internal contradictions and you found them yourself, that review was basically a bill for a PDF edit. Tbh, I'd be asking for my money back.

$400 for a 3 page document that only changed a name and dates is rough. I used to think any legal review was worth the money, but hearing about internal contradictions they missed changes that for me. If they can't catch basic stuff like that, you're paying for a formatting check, not actual review work. I'd at least ask for a partial refund and name the specific errors.
