Picked a flat fee contract over hourly and it actually worked out
I was stuck deciding between a flat fee for a 6-month project drafting rental agreements in Austin or billing hourly like I usually do. Ended up going flat at $3,000 because the scope was pretty clear. Turned out I finished 3 weeks early and didn't lose any money on extra revisions like I worried about. Anybody else had luck switching up how you charge?

Client isn't a nightmare" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, lol. That's the real gamble.

Oh wow, that's exactly the kind of win I love hearing about. I've always been scared of flat fees because I worry I'll get buried in back and forth, but your experience is making me rethink it. If you really know the scope and the client isn't a nightmare, it sounds like it can actually pay off in the end.
