Unpopular opinion: partial payment upfront is a scam on both ends
I kept seeing everyone push 50% deposits as the golden rule, but then I dug into my own numbers from the last 2 years and found that partial payers are 3 times more likely to ghost me after the first draft. That stat came from cross-referencing my own invoices, 34 total jobs. Full upfront or net 15 with a signed contract has never failed me once, even with the sketchy leads from Craigslist in Denver. Has anyone else run the math on their own deposit structure instead of just copying the standard advice?

34 invoices is a pretty small sample size to call that a trend.

Is 34 really that small when they're all from the same vendor though, @joseph_green13?
