Finally told a client 'three revisions max' and they actually respected it
I used to let folks loop me around 6 or 7 times on a single flyer design, but after the last round took 2 extra hours for zero improvement I drew a hard line. Has anyone else had a surprisingly chill reaction when you set a firm cap like that?

Three revisions max is the way to go. Most people just want to feel heard, not actually make 6 changes.

Yeah, you're probably right @milalewis. Most of the time people just want to vent and feel like someone actually listened. Three rounds is plenty.

Totally agree with "most people just want to feel heard" - that hits the nail right on the head. I swear half my clients would be happy if I just nodded along for ten minutes and then handed them the original draft back. Three revisions is like the unspoken rule of the universe at this point. Anything past that and you're basically just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. It's like that old saying goes - the fifth revision is where everyone suddenly forgets why they wanted the first one.
