My cat decided 4 AM was the perfect time for a client call last Thursday
Last Thursday I was editing a PDF for a deadline when my cat jumped on my keyboard and opened a Zoom link. Before I could stop it, she sent a join request to a client I was supposed to meet at 9. They accepted and I had to explain why a tabby was staring into their camera at 4 in the morning. The client actually laughed and rescheduled, but now I keep my laptop closed after 10 PM. Has anyone else had a pet sabotage a work call at a weird hour?

Oh man, that's hilarious but also kind of genius from your cat's perspective! I bet the client remembers you way more now than if you'd just shown up at 9 like a normal boring meeting. Your cat basically gave you a free pass to skip the awkward small talk and jump straight into a memorable story. I wonder if your cat has figured out that early morning chaos gets you to actually pay attention to her instead of staring at a screen all day.

Totally feel you on that, @wade_anderson. My cat does the same thing - she'll start pawing at my face or knocking stuff off my desk right when I'm about to hop on a call. It's like they know exactly when to act out for maximum effect. I've started giving her a little treat before my meetings just to buy some peace...

My cat's timing is so perfect she could charge a consultant fee.
