The co-working space I tried last week had people on Zoom calls at full volume in the quiet zone
I paid $30 for a day pass to The Hive downtown, thinking I'd finally get some focused work done away from my noisy apartment. But three different people were taking client calls right at their desks, no headphones or anything. Has anyone else dealt with co-working places totally ignoring their own quiet hour rules?

Didn't someone write an article about co-working spaces being the new library?

Had a buddy who paid for a month at some trendy loft space. First day there, some guy set up a full speakerphone call right next to the "library" section. My friend asked him to use headphones, got told to mind his own business. The manager did nothing when he complained, said they couldn't enforce rules because people paid for the space. He spent the rest of the month working from his car in the parking lot just to get away from the noise. Never went back.

Oh man, @shane_morgan that story is wild. I gotta admit, I used to be kinda on the fence about co-working spaces, thought they were just fancy places to drink free coffee and pretend to work. But hearing how your buddy got totally pushed out of a space he paid for, and the manager just shrugged it off? That really changed my mind. I guess I assumed those places had some basic rules to keep things chill, but if people can just blast speakerphone calls wherever and nobody does anything about it, then what's even the point? Maybe it's just me but I'd be so embarrassed to be that loud guy, not everyone wants to hear your whole day planned out.
